Abstract
FIELD: optics. SUBSTANCE: invention refers specifically to lighting units of microscopes. It also can be used in phototelegraphy and motion-picture projection equipment. Lighting unit has source 1 of light, light conduit 2 with side reflecting surface and condenser 3. Output butt of light conduit 2 is optically matched with plane of location of illuminated object. Source 1 of light and output butt of light conduit 2 are mounted for spatial movement relative to each other. Side surface of light conduit 2 may be fabricated in the form of side surface of polyhedron. Light conduit proper in this case is mounted for rotation about its axis. Lens raster 4 is installed between output butt of light conduit 2 and condenser 3 for even illumination of object. Source 1 of light may be fabricated in the form of laser. Light conduit 2 may be produced in the form of singular optical fibre or bundle or washer containing not less than two similar light conduits. Collector 5 is set between source 1 of light and light conduit 2 to enhance energy characteristics. EFFECT: specified make of lighting unit provides for smooth change of method (light or dark field) and mode of illumination of object which in its turn results in expansion of operational capabilities. 2 cl, 8 dwg
