Description

In corn starch production, the soaking process of corn grain with the use of sulfuric acid lasts 48- 60 hours, i.e. it is very long.

The proposed method significantly speeds up the process of moistening the grain and extracting extractive substances from it. This is achieved by the fact that the grain is subjected to peeling from the shells before being closed, and the soaked and crushed grain, after removing the germ from it, is subjected to additional maceration with stirring in the return water.

The method is carried out as follows.

The grain before the lock goes through the usual grain cleaning, after which it is processed on the roughing machines until a significant part of the shells is removed.

The prepared grain is soaked in reversed industrial water heated to 48-50 and containing 0.25-0.30% sulfurous acid for 12-20 hours. depending on the humidity and grade of the grain; extract for boiling is taken in the usual way.

The soaked and crushed grain after separation of the embryo by flotation is subjected to maceration with stirring of the crushed mass with a mixer in the return production water.

The maceration after maceration is separated from the liquid phase on vacuum filters. The filtrate of the vacuum filters is saturated with sulfuric anhydride and returned to the lock and maceration. The filtered precipitate from the vacuum filters is diluted with weak starch milk and is fed for grinding to the millstones or disintegrators.
