Abstract

A dowel (1) has a housing (2) suitable for being inserted into a hole (8, 80) in a wall and is provided with holding unit (A) suitable for holding the housing in the hole in the wall, and a screw (3) suitable for being screwed into the housing (2) so as to cause an expansion of the holding unit (A) to efect a firm hold of the dowel in the hole of the wall; the housing (2) is composed of a first portion (4) and a second portion (5) that is adapted to be slidably mounted in the first portion (4) to adjust the length of the dowel (1); and the dowel (1) is further provided with anti-rotation device (B) suitable for preventing a rotation of the second portion (5) relative to the first portion (4) of the housing of the dowel.
