Abstract

Fuel can only be dispensed once the customer has used their digital phone to send details of their subscription number stored in the phone smart card to a digital phone receiver in the pump, linked to a control centre. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The pump contains a receiver (2) for an identification code inputted by the customer. A line (6) links the receiver to a control unit (7) that uses the identification code to determine whether the customer is authorised to purchase the fuel and, providing authorisation is given, unblocks the pump for the customer to use. The receiver includes a digital telephone (3) for receiving the identification code via a digital phone network, the code having been inputted via the customer`s own digital telephone (1) and consisting of the subscriber number stored in the smart card for the telephone. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for the receiver unit.
