Abstract

The arrangement comprises gas springs (4a-c) for adjusting height of the bench, a stand (3), and a first pair (5) of parallel link arms (5a,b) on one side of the springs, at one end. A second pair (6) of parallel link arms on the other side of the springs, is movable at one end beneath sidepieces (8) on each side of the bench-top (2). A connector (7) moves the other ends of second arm above the other ends of first arms, which are also joined to the connector. A movable link (9) connects first and second arms so that they move in opposite directions as the height of the bench is adjusted. The link is connected at one end (9a) to the bottom arm in the first arm, at a position between its two ends, and at the other end (9b) to an extension (10) of the bottom arm in the second arm.
