Abstract
The steam turbine (1) comprises a stationary cylinder (2) for contg. a steam flow, rotor (3) enclosed by cylinder (2), and row of blades (5) attached to the rotor periphery. Each blade (5) has a root portion (12) attached to rotor (3) and an aerofoil portion (11). Each airfoil portion (11) comprises a base portion (15) and a tip portion (16) defining an airfoil height between these portions. The aerofoil portion (11) has a rounded leading edge (22) and a trailing edge (26) portions. Pressure surface (18) and a concave suction surface (14) extend between the portions (22,26) and define a thickness of the aerofoil. Each aerofoil (11) has first, second and third transverse sections disposed radially outward from the root (12) by distances equal to approximately 25%, 50% and 75%, respectively, of their height (11). A first portion of the (11) height extends between the first and third sections. The pressure surface (18) over at least the first portion of the height has a curvature undergoing an inflection at a location disposed within the pressure surface (18). A first portion of the pressure surface (18) extends over the first portion of the aerofoil height having a concave curvature and is disposed between the inflection location and the rounded leading edge portion (22). A second portion of the pressure surface (18) extends over the first portion of the aerofoil height having a convex curvature and being disposed between the inflection location and the trailing edge (26). The concave curvature of the first portion of the pressure surface (18) has a max. negative value greater than -1.0 mm-1 \* 10 -2. The convex curvature in the second portion of the pressure surface (18) has a max. positive value greater than 1.0 mm -1 \* 10 -2.
