Abstract

The door closer according to the invention is constructed in such a way that in an initial stage of the opening phase it offers a very low opening force, while during the closing phase, in the same position, i.e. concluding closing phase, it provides a very great force which substantially exceeds the force needed to cause the door closer to move during the said initial stage. This is possible by virtue of the construction according to the invention in which, in an initial opening stage, only one 10 of two springs 9, 10 is pre-tensioned, while in the concluding closing stage both springs 9, 10 cooperate. <IMAGE>
