Abstract

A bridging piece (5) for joining structural elements (4) of dissimilar metallic materials, comprising sheet-like parts (6) of the two parts of mutually different metallic materials, said parts being joined by explosion-welding, wherein respective materials of the bridging piece are intended to be joined to a respective, preferably corresponding material of the structural elements. The bridging piece is mainly characterized in that it includes at least three sheet-like parts (6) which are joined by explosion-welding, wherein the main extension plane of the explosion-welded joints (3) is intended to extend generally parallel with the direction of the tensile and/or compression loads which the bridging piece (5) is intended to take-up. The invention also relates to a method for the manufacture of such a briding piece.
