Abstract
The spike fitting method is for vehicle tyres. The spikes have a sleeve (14) provided with a flange and containing an axially moveable river (11) with a head. The sleeves members are formed from a continuous sleeve band (10). Spikes are inserted by a pusher piston and expanding jaws, which are then withdrawn, to leave the rubber of the tyre in contact with the flange. USE/ADVANTAGE - Spike fitting method for vehicle tyre uses a sleeve band which permits the insertion of one spike after another.
