Abstract

In a dental treatment chair (1) which comprises a seat, a back rest (3) and a head rest (4) which is mounted on the back rest so as to be adjustable by means of a push-pull drive (7) located in the back rest (3) in a manner such that it can assume the different inclined positions of the supported patient's head, and which is mounted in the back rest (3) so as to be movable in the direction of the longitudinal axis (6) of the back rest by means of a sliding rail (5), the head rest is also intended to be able to assume the ideal position for treatment of the upper jaw, and for this reason a push rod (8) connected to the push-pull drive (7) is hinged onto a connecting linkage (9) inside the head rest (4), and a support member (14) of variable length is provided in the head rest. A control mechanism effecting different movements of the sliding rail (5) and the push rod (8) is arranged inside the back rest (3). <IMAGE>
