Abstract

The drinking valve for pigs is made up of two main parts, a front valve housing 1 and a rear valve housing 2, between which is secured a rubber sleeve 7, the other end portion of which surrounds a drinking nipple 3. When a pig actuates the nipple 3, a pin 4 is raised, allowing water to flow towards the valve housing 1, via two hollow plates (8, 9) provided with a rivetted joint which control the quantity of water, and enter the drinking nipple 3. Since the drinking nipple is sprung, only a small force is required to make water flow out. Accordingly, even pigs which are only a few hours old can use the drinking valve unaided. <IMAGE>
