Abstract

Fastener driving tool comprises a housing 100, a barrel and cylinder assembly 200 disposed for reciprocal movement in the opening of the housing 100, a striker assembly 300 movably disposed within the assembly 200, a cylinder stop assembly 400 comprising projecting means extending into a groove of the cylinder 204 of the assembly 200 to limit longitudinal and rotational travel of the assembly 200 relative to the housing 100, a breech block assembly 500 having a chamber, a firing pin 514 mounted yieldably in a bore intersecting the chamber, a firing mechanism 600 for applying a force to the firing pin 514 to drive it forward into the chamber to fire a cartridge located in a firing position adjacent the cylinder 204 and the pin 514, cartridge advance mechanism 800 for advancing a strip of cartridges to place a cartridge in the firing position, and trigger means 700 for operating the firing mechanism 600. The tool has exhaust passages for venting the hot gases of combustion. The tool includes a detachable pole assembly and has a remote tool-actuating mechanism. <IMAGE>
