Abstract

A spray washing arrangement for projecting a washing liquid in droplet form on to a surface (35), for example a vehicle headlamp glass, so as to clean that surface comprises a spray nozzle for directing a defined spray pattern generally towards the surface and a deflector member (43) separate from the spray nozzle which is arranged adjacent the spray nozzle such as to project into a part of the path of the spray pattern produced by the spray nozzle and deflect a portion of that pattern in a desired direction toward the surface. The deflector member (43) may be mounted directly on the spray nozzle or, alternatively, adjacent thereto in, for example, a vehicle over-rider (41). The deflector member (43) may be pivotted from a rest position to an operative position by the action of the spray thereon. <IMAGE>
