Abstract

A cylinder barrel (10) with a piston (12) reciprocable therein has a rail-like support means, such as an integral ridge (14) or a groove, on its outside surface and which extends parallel to its axis. Limit switches (18) are adjustably fixed to the support means.The barrel furthermore has an outer flat (30) running along at least part of its length. The flat (30) forms a mounting area for a directional control valve (20) responsive to the operation of the limit switches (18). The barrel has fluid power supply and outlet ducts (16 and 17) formed within the thickness of its wall and are connected to the control valve (20). The limit switches are designed for sensing the position of the piston (12) within the barrel and are electrically connected to the valve (20) for changing the direction of motion of the piston. <IMAGE>
