Abstract
The present invention relates to the field of chemical technology and more precisely to a process for obtaining hydrogen peroxide by the anthraquinone method. The process for obtaining hydrogen peroxide comprises catalytic hydrogenation of the working solution consisting of a mixture of anthraquinones dissolved in an organic solvent until formation of anthrahydroquinones, oxidation of the mixture of anthraquinones by oxygen or by an oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a stabilising agent for hydrogen peroxide of acid type taken in an amount which ensures the acidity of the abovementioned solution corresponding to a pH of 6.1 to 8.7 until formation of a mixture of anthraquinones and of hydrogen peroxide, extraction of the hydrogen peroxide using demineralised water and recycling the separated working solution to the hydrogenation stage. The hydrogen peroxide obtained by the claimed process finds a wide application in the chemical, textile, pulp and paper industries, under the usual chemistry.
