Abstract

Packaging for meal components which is designed to be used also as serving tray/serving mat. It consists of two main components (1, 11) of which one (1) comprises a thin, flexible piece of material, preferably paper and the second (11) comprises a trough-like arrangement with one open end and preferably made of board and arranged so that it can be raised from a flat state to form the said trough-like shape with upraised side edges (13, 14). The first section (1) is fastened to the bottom of the second section (11) and is larger than the latter so that projecting side portions (2) are formed from the thin flexible material. At their outer edges the side portions are provided with handles (3) so that in the transport state they can be raised above the trough-like section (11), over its open end and form a protection above this with the said side edges to which the handles (3) are fastened, directed away from the trough-like section, so that a handle is formed for carrying the packaging with the trough-like section placed at the bottom.
