Abstract

The union secures a soft-walled pipe (2), e.g. of plastics material, to a coupling member (4), and has a union nut (6) with a clamping ring (8) inside. A portion of a securing bush (14) fits between the ring and the outside surface of the pipe, and is pressed into engagement with the latter by distortion of the ring. With the bush removed, the union can instead be used to secure a copper pipe.
