Abstract

A device for the breaking down of things such as household waste and forest waste and the like to smaller parts, involves two rotating cylinders (1, 2), arranged side by side, which each show a screw type surface along the length of the cylinders' cam (3) on which a number of axially, and mutually, separated cutting units (4) are arranged. The cylinders (1, 2) combine with a friction device located between and below the cylinders' rotation axles (5). Each cylinder is prone to move in the direction away from both the other cylinder and the friction device so that when an extremely hard or resistant object becomes lodged in the space between the cylinders, and/or against the friction device , this space expands and allows the item through.<IMAGE>
