Abstract

A CHEMICAL, PULP HAVING IMPROVED STRENGTH, DRAINABILITY AND BEATABILITY, AND A PROCESS OF MAKING SAID PULP A chemical pulp which may be bleached or unbleached and has improved strength, drainability and beatability is described. In order to obtain the desired characteristics, one or more low-molecular water-soluble salts have been added to the pulp. Also a process of making the chemical pulp is described, in which process the pulp which is undried after cooking, is treated with an aqueous solution of one or more low-molecular salts. A suitable salt content is 0.1-10% by weight, based upon the weight of the dried pulp.
