Abstract

According to this invention, the hovercraft includes a hull (1), with a fan (2) and a drive motor (3), a skirt with flexible balloon shaped skirt sides (5), whose under parts are designed to form side walls (20) for an air cushion (4), and flexible, balloon shaped skirt ends of variable cross sections, to which are fixed flexible components (19, 21) with a height, which decreases to zero in the direction of the air cushion's (4) side walls (20). The air cushion (4) is divided, along the craft's longitudinal axis (14), into a centre chamber (23) and side chambers (24) by means of flexible walls, which are fixed to the skirt sides (5) between the components (19,21) at variable height.The invention can be used for transport of material over marshy terrain and for loading ships where there is shallow water at the shoreline.<IMAGE>
