Abstract

Surplus heat is extracted from the air circuit of a regenerative drier (which may be a tumble drier) and applied to external purposes. Air enters drier 1 by conduit 2 and leaves by conduit 3 and is recirculated or, alternatively, replaced by fresh air. Heat exchanger 6 uses the exhaust heat to heat the inlet flow of air, and provides a surplus by way of offtake heat exchanger 10. <IMAGE>
