Abstract
A so-called counter-flow roof has an airtight outer roof layer 11 and an air-permeable layer 20 of a porous material mounted beneath it and further a fan 17, the inlet 16 of which can be connected to an inflow air source and its outlet 18 can be connected to an air distribution space 19 which is delimited by the outer roof layer and the air- permeable layer 20. Alongside the roof layer 11 and in heat transferring relation to it, there are two air channels 13, 14 of which one at any given time can be connected with the inlet of the fan 17. In the first operating scenario, the fan 17 transports air through one channel 13 to the distribution space 19. From there the air passes down through the air-permeable layer 20 to the underlying space 21. In a second operating scenario, the fan 17 transports air through the second channel 14 to the distribution space 19. From there part of the air goes down through the air- permeable layer 20 in the same manner as in the first operating scenario while the rest of the air goes through a valve-equipped passage 23 to the first channel 13 and through that out to the free air. <IMAGE>
