Abstract
A so-called counterflow roof has a roof layer 11 and arranged below that an air-permeable layer 12 made of porous material. An airtight interstice is arranged between the air- permeable layer 12 and the roof layer 11 and delimits air distribution space 15 together with the air-permeable layer. A fan 18 which is placed in the space between the roof layer 11 and the interstice, has its outlet 19 connected to the distribution space 15 and can with its inlet 20 be alternatively connected to the above-mentioned space and an inflow air source outside the roof. A closable air passage 24 is arranged between said space 16 and the fan outlet 19. In the first operating scenario, this air passage 23 is closed and the fan inlet is connected to said space 16. All air from the fan 18 then goes down to the distribution space 15 and through the air-permeable layers 12 to the underlying room. In the second operating scenario, the air passage 23 is open and the fan inlet 20 is connected to the external inflow air source. Part of the air from the fan still goes through the air-permeable layer 12 while the rest goes out into said space and from there to the surrounding air space. <IMAGE>
