Abstract

A device for releasing from each other two lengths of pipe, 7, 8 which are connected to each other, comprises two wrenches 2, 3 with frames fixed on a holder 1 which can be pushed onto the pipe, the wrenches being at such a distance from each other that they act on either side of the pipe joint. The wrenches operate in opposite directions and can be hydraulically or pneumatically actuated so that they produce an oppositely directed torque to release the joint. A piston- cylinder unit 21 operates, via its rod, a jaw which is initially screwed along another jaw part to clamp its pipe section. <IMAGE>
