Abstract

A method of cleaning floor surfaces and a cleaning cloth for implementing the method are described. The cleaning cloth consists of a rectangular textile cloth 1, one side surface 3 of which is provided with a dense layer of thread loops 6 with a length of at most 1 cm and a loop density of at least 20 loops/cm<2>. The other side surface 5 of the textile cloth is provided with a sparse layer of thread loops with a loop density which is at most half that of the dense layer. The peripheral edge portion of the cleaning cloth is free of loops in order for it to be possible to fold it around a holder more easily. In the method of cleaning floor surfaces, the cleaning cloth is impregnated with a cleaning solution and is dried by centrifuging to a moisture content of roughly 40%. The cleaning cloth is then fastened on a holder and is moved with the side provided with a sparse loop layer against the floor surface to be cleaned. <IMAGE>
