Abstract

In order to facilitate the taking onboard of off-shore equipment onto a floating ship's dock, the dock can be separated along a transverse plane (13) at around the middle of its length, so that the two halves (14, 15) can be manoeuvred side by side in order to create a short but broad dock platform.If the dock has two side-walls (11, 12), one can arrange drainage passages for these in such a way that they come to lie right in front of each other when the two halves are side by side. The passages form, thereby, transition gangways (23) between those parts of the bottom part's (10) work deck which are separated by the dock rampart sections.The two half sections (14, 15) can be combined via a gangway construction (25) arranged at mid-ships on one of the dock's long sides.<IMAGE>
