Abstract

A revolving chair has a seating surface 1 whose angle of inclination relative to the horizontal is adjustable (axis 7) by pivotally mounting of the seating surface relative to a ground engaging frame 6. An adjustable lever 9 is pivoted (axis 10) to the frame and extends through a guide slot 14 formed in the seat support 15. The slot has contact surfaces 14' extending at an acute angle to the direction of movement of the lever so that pivoting of the lever (arrows 13) changes the position of the contact surfaces and alters the seat tilt (arrows 8). A handle 12 of the lever is adjacent the front edge of the seating surface. A friction brake 16, 25 is provided between the lever and the support to secure the seat in the desired angle of inclination. <IMAGE>
