Abstract
Indicator module with a number of indicators E1-E4 and decoding and holding circuits A1-A4 which is connected between a data bus input DI and the various indicators in order to convert the bit groups occurring at the data bus input into control signals for the indicators. An addressing arrangement, preferably in the form of a shift register SK, is connected to an enable control signal input AI and is configured such that it consecutively starts the activation of the individual indicators of the module only after a particular enable control signal occurs at said enable control signal input. Furthermore, each module has a "last-digit-clear" indicator, for example, in the form of a flip-flop FF, which enters into operation when the last indicator of the module has been activated and thus puts out a signal corresponding to said enable control signal to an enable control signal output AU. By connecting the enable control signal output AU of one module to the enable control signal input AI of a following module, the different modules can be activated in proper order. An entire instrument panel can be constructed from a number of identical indicator modules of simple design, which are controlled via a data bus line L from a common control layout, such as a microcomputer MD, which consecutively furnishes bit groups corresponding to the symbols or digits being indicated. The invention can be used in medical equipment, such as X-ray systems. <IMAGE>
