Abstract

A matrix of fuel element positions (4) is to be precisely observed in a storage rack for nuclear reactor fuel elements (2) having a square cross-section. For this purpose, centring members (12) are provided adjacent to the fuel element positions (4), and centring fingers (10) are assigned to a fuel element charging machine which serves the storage rack. The centring members (12) which have a bevelled edge (15) on their circumference for the purpose of guiding the centring fingers (10) are provided on the longitudinal edges (13) of the fuel element cross-section in such a way that they engage with opposing end faces (14) between two centring fingers (10) assigned to the respective longitudinal edge (13).
