Abstract

A core drill device (100) for enabling extraction of a core sample (201) from a tree trunk (200) is disclosed. The core drill device (100) comprises a drill mounting assembly (110) arranged to receive and mount a core drill (300), and a tool mounting assembly (120) arranged to receive and mount a tool (400) for driving the drill mounting assembly (110) for rotation of the core drill (300). The drill mounting assembly (110) comprises an inner surface (111) forming a hole (113) extending from the drill face (103) towards the tool face (105), wherein the inner surface (111) is configured to receive the core drill (300), a conical structure (117) configured to receive the core drill (300) and a fastening element (114) that together form a safety release.
