Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a method for remotely and/or autonomously harvesting a standing tree (114) from air by means of a remotely and/or autonomously controlled harvesting tool (105) attached underneath a remotely and/or autonomously controlled unmanned aerial vehicle, UAV (100), the method comprising detecting (S1) a tree (114) to be harvested by at least one sensor provided on the UAV (100) and/or the harvesting tool (105), delimbing and cutting (S2) the tree (114) from air with the harvesting tool (105), receiving (S3) data indicative of a length (L) of the harvested tree (114), securing (S4) at least a portion (114a) of the harvesting tool (105) to the harvested tree (114), transporting (S6) the harvested tree (114) to a final destination (FD), receiving (S7) data indicative of at least a first parameter of the final destination (FD), releasing (S8) the harvested tree (114) from the harvesting tool (105) at the final destination (FD) based on the length (L) of the harvested tree (114) and the at least one parameter. The present disclosure further relates to a computer program comprising program code, the computer program code being adapted, if executed by a processor to perform the method and a system (10) for remote and/or autonomous harvesting of a standing tree (114) from air.
