Abstract

The present invention refers to a system and a method for both personal and material alarm services. The system according to the invention comprises a number of alarm subscribers (100), which in e.g. their homes have sensors (10) communicatively coupled to a collecting unit (102) or a router/switch. The collecting unit (102) or the router/switch is communicatively coupled to an externally arranged central alarm server (200). At an alarm signal from any of the sensors (101), the collecting unit (102) or the router will send an alarm signal to the central alarm server (200), which unit after a certain alarm delay transmits the alarm further to a number of alarm receivers (500) and/or central alarm unit (400) defined by the subscriber (100). By means of the alarm delay in the central alarm server (200) the system provides a subscriber (100) to cancel an alarm within a predefined time period, but the system prevents an unauthorized person, e.g. a burglar, from stopping the distributed alarm signal by cutting off an alarm signal by cutting off an alarm cable or destroying the locally arranged components (101, 102).
