The invention relates to the field of information technology, in particular to methods of searching for information in global and / or local networks, and allows, upon user request, to find the required information and content in computer networks.

Currently, general-purpose search engines (Google, Yahoo, Yandex, etc.) are known in the art. The purpose of these systems is to provide the user with the ability to obtain information upon request. The search system can position the text found on the display of the user monitor by the location of the keywords from the query. The user analyzes the text further on his own. Such systems are based on the principles of using server-side specialized software (the so-called search robots), which, at certain intervals, download web pages from the network (for example, from the Internet), index (analyze) downloaded pages and put indexed pages in own server-side database. After that, when a request is received from the client’s terminal, the system retrieves the search results from the database and gives them to the client for display in the form of links to site pages.

Also known are such networks and systems as Facebook, VK, LinkedIn, etc., Wikipedia, Stack Overflow, in which pages or publications are directly sent to their own database by content authors. For example, a user wants to learn how to create a collaboration web application. Then the search query could consist of the following parts: “how to develop a web application”, “collaboration”. Let's say that there is not a single page on the Internet that answers such a difficult and specific question. The answer to it is given by a chain of the following, logically connected pages that are on different sites and are not linked by links:

The second drawback of search engines aimed at the single most relevant document is manifested in the impossibility in some cases to prompt the user the most useful and modern request.

Since the purpose of the search is the single document most relevant to the query, the prompts for constructing the query should contain keywords from the same document as the words entered by the user. And this means that words that correspond to the latest achievements in the field covered in the keywords entered, but are in different documents with them, cannot be prompted to the user.

Tips to clarify the request can be given in the form of special terms that are not understandable to the user, although there is information on the network that reveals their meaning. This also increases the chances of making a mistake with the choice of a document and wasting time and energy on reading it.

For example, after entering a part of the “web application development” query, the search engine may prompt the user to refine the query with the words “javascript” or “coffeescript”. Not knowing what to choose, the user will most likely end up on the development page in a much less convenient JavaScript language. Also known from the prior art is a system for interactive information search and display, with which a method of information search is implemented, which consists in the fact that the user connects to the server through his terminal, the user selects the main search criterion (direction), and he is given the option search criteria that have topics related to the main criterion. In addition, the user has the opportunity to specify the search according to the main and additional criteria several levels in depth (in this case, a tree structure is used). Search results for the main and additional criteria are displayed in the same window where the search criteria are selected (see patent RU 2576468, published 03/10/2016).

A disadvantage of the known solution is the possible confusion for the user of related topics and, as a consequence, the inability of the user to select a criterion for the search; in the case of refinement of the search using the tree structure, topics that are not clear to him or are not of interest to him, that are at intermediate levels (that is, not so simple and basic, and related to the user context, topics such as those that are at the lower levels of the tree structure) of the tree structure, which will prevent it from choosing the right branch for finding the correct refinement.

Closest to the proposed technical solution is a method of searching for information, including: displaying in response to receiving a search query one or more concepts from a hierarchical concept model, in which each concept in a hierarchical model is mentioned in at least one document stored in the database , and in which one or more concepts correspond to the search query and are displayed on the first section of the display; and also the display on the display, in addition to the first section, of a concept from a hierarchical model, which is associated with one or more concepts, which is displayed in the first section (see patent US 7231384, published April 29, 2004).

The disadvantages of the known solution are: the possible ambiguity for the user of related concepts from the hierarchical model (i.e., not so simple and basic, and related to the user context, concepts such as those that are at the lower levels of the hierarchical model) and, as a consequence, the impossibility of choice of which, in order to clarify the request; the limitation of the method of constructing a query and search only by the content of one desired document.

The technical problem solved by the group of inventions is the improvement of the information retrieval system.
