The utility model relates to the field of care of domestic animals (cats and dogs) and concerns the design of a muzzle used during transportation of animals or during a visit to a veterinary clinic or in the postoperative period in order to limit the consequences of nervous behavior of the animal due to a change in its usual living conditions.

Cats have large eyes, which allows them to see up to 200° of their surroundings (some animals have 270°), while humans have only 180° of vision. Cats have close-set eyes that point in one direction. As a result, the animal can look forward, down, and under its paws. This allows it to accurately calculate the distance to prey when hunting small animals or to calculate a jump from the floor to a sofa or table. Cats have excellent vision of objects at a distance and are farsighted, which cannot be said about objects located almost in front of their noses. To examine an object in more detail, the animal needs to move a short distance away. This feature is due to the poor development of the ciliary muscle, which is responsible for quickly adjusting the cat's eyes to examine objects. The ciliary muscle changes the shape of the eye lens, which helps the animal focus its gaze at different distances. When the owner is half a meter or a meter away from the cat, it does not see the length of the eyelashes or the shape of the nose. The face looks like a blurry picture, like through binoculars without focus.

Hence, there are two problems that are not solved in the well-known muzzle.

The first is that the cat, being near the net or with its muzzle towards the net, does not see the net, but sees an obstacle that seems vague to it. Therefore, it brings its muzzle closer to the net, contacts it with its whiskers, tries to sniff it, but cannot determine the type of object because it is unclear and blurry. This leads to constant attempts to get rid of this vague image - the obstacle. If a muzzle is put on a cat and has a mesh part, the cat will try to throw off the muzzle to get rid of this object that does not allow it to objectively get a picture of the surrounding world.

The second - a cat, even if kept at home, remains a predator by nature of the feline origin. In nature, a cat's life depends on control over the environment, cats see and record any, even the smallest movement. And this is due to the fact that a cat's eyes cover a viewing angle of 220 °. At the same time, this ability does not disappear if the cat becomes domestic or was born in a nursery or trained. This is a genetic feature and is controlled by the central nervous system of the animal. If you narrow the viewing angle, the cat begins to get nervous, as it loses the ability to control the environment. In the well-known muzzle, the eyes are covered with a grid at an angle of 220 ° or more, which allows not to limit the animal's viewing angle. But it is not taken into account that the cat sees objects very close to the nose and eyes foggy, blurry, only in contours, the vision does not focus on such a grid. That is, the cat does not see what is behind the grid, and especially does not see distant objects through the grid. To restore vision, it is necessary that the mesh be kept away from the cat's eyes, but this contradicts the function of the muzzle as a device placed on the cat's head.

Muzzles are put on dogs that do not cover the eye area, it is located lower and sits on the animal's nose to close the mouth. A dog has complex vision, the dog's field of vision depends on the structure of the skull and how the eyes are located in it. It can be from 240 to 270 °. But, in fact, this is the same as a cat's. There are dogs that have a short mouth, and the muzzle does not stay on it. In this case, a full muzzle is used, like for cats, that is, with a head circumference.

The structure of the eyeballs is the same in different dog breeds, but their placement depends on the structure of the skull and the shape of the nose. On average, the axes of the dog's eyes diverge by about 20°, providing a panoramic view. In owners of a long muzzle, the angle of their divergence is large, so peripheral vision is better. For domestic dogs, a good view is important in order to notice what is happening around and at the same time monitor their safety.

At the same time, cats are calm about wearing a collar for a long time, for example, from fleas (in the summer). This is explained not by the lack of tactile sensations, but by the fact that the cat does not see this collar, therefore, it does not exist. A dog's attitude to wearing a collar directly depends on its upbringing. It wears a collar because the owner put it on, knowing that at any moment the dog can get rid of the collar (pulls its head through the collar). But the collar, as an accessory, does not cause discomfort to the dog. That is, the presence of something behind the ears on the withers does not cause an aggressive reaction.

The utility model is aimed at achieving a technical result consisting in improving the ergonomics of the muzzle by eliminating the narrowing of the animal's viewing angle both vertically and horizontally when wearing a muzzle on a cat or dog.

The said technical result is achieved by the fact that in a muzzle for a domestic animal, primarily for cats and dogs, which is a three-dimensional form-forming element put on the animal's head from the side of the animal's mouth and secured to the animal in the area behind the ears to the withers, wherein the front part is made transparent and curved in the nose area with a breathing hole, and the lower opaque part is located under the animal's mouth and connected to the front part, the front part is made of a waterproof transparent polyvinyl chloride film with a thickness of 0.1 mm to 2.00 mm and has a three-dimensional shape elongated toward the animal's nose, obtained by rolling up with a connection with overlapping of the edge sections of this film to form a breathing hole in the area of the animal's nose, wherein the length of the front part is made greater than the length of the animal's head from the nose to the ears, and the width in the upper part is greater than the distance between the lateral edges of the animal's eyes, and the lower opaque part, located from the nose area under the lower jaw, made of hypoallergenic fabric and has tapes on the sides to cover the animal’s head behind the ears to the withers, with supporting elements fastened together using Velcro.

The area of the facial part, elongated in the area of the animal's nose, may have the shape of a cone.

The specified features are essential and are interconnected with the formation of a stable set of essential features sufficient to obtain the required technical result.

The utility model is illustrated by a specific example of implementation, which, however, is not the only possible one, but clearly demonstrates the possibility of achieving the required technical result.

According to the utility model, the design of a muzzle or mask for domestic animals is considered - cats, dogs and other domestic animals, whose visual angle with both eyes is 220-270° (Figs. 1 and 2).

Such a muzzle, as a volumetric form-forming element, is a bag with a front part 1, located opposite the animal's eyes, and a lower part 2, stretched from the nose area under the lower jaw to the upper neck area. The form-forming element is put on the animal's head from the side of the mouth and is fixed on the animal in the area behind the ears to the withers with a girth along the area of the beginning of the neck.

The lower part 2 on the sides is made with tapes 3 to cover the animal's head behind the ears to the withers, the supporting elements 4 are fastened together by Velcro. The lower part is made of hypoallergenic natural fabric (cotton, calico, linen) or hypoallergenic artificial fabric (lyocell, thinsulate).

The front part is made transparent with a hole 5 for breathing in the nose area and/or near this area, and the lower opaque part is located under the animal's mouth and is connected to the front part. The transparent front part of the muzzle is connected to the elements of the lower part along the contour 6. It can be considered that the lower part, like a bag, has an opening on one side, into which the front part is inserted, sewn along the contour to the edges of the opening.

The face part is made of waterproof (insoluble in water and household liquids) transparent polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film with a thickness of 0.1 mm to 2.00 mm. The choice of film thickness depends on the size of the cat's or dog's head. The film is flexible, but belongs to the rigid type, that is, when semi-bent, the face part retains its shape, remaining elastically deformable. For cats with small heads, such as kittens, there is no need to maintain increased rigidity in the face part. For kittens, a small muzzle is used, and a film with a thickness of 0.1 mm retains its shape completely. And for cats with large heads, it is necessary to increase the thickness of the film so that when worn, the face part does not deform, but maintains a convex shape without bending dips and local deformations in the field of vision. A thickness reduction of less than 0.1 mm leads to increased deformation of the front part and loss of its stability (the function is redistributed - the front part ceases to be the basis for the shape of the lower part), and an excess of thickness of more than 2.0 mm reduces the transparency of the film.

This part has the shape (Fig. 1) of a volumetric figure elongated toward the animal's nose with beveled corner zones in the area of the animal's nose, inclined side edges and a slightly curved upper edge. Such a film at these thicknesses has high transparency, in commercial circulation it is called supertransparent due to the virtual absence of refraction and distortion of the visible image. When placed close to the eyes, the film itself becomes invisible. This is important because cats are nearsighted and any obstacle in front of their eyes at a short distance from the eyes is seen by them as a foggy, odorless solidity. When sewing in, the flat blank of the front part is slightly folded with the edge sections overlapping each other (as when forming a cone), which allows you to get a narrowed part of the trapezoid and simultaneously form an opening in the front (at the places where the edges overlap). After this, the front part is sewn into the opening. In essence, the face part has a volumetric shape extended toward the animal's nose, which is obtained by rolling the film, for example, around the longitudinal axis, with the connection with the overlap of the edge sections of this film to form an opening at the overlap in the area of the animal's nose for breathing. In this case, the area of the face part extended in the area of the animal's nose, due to the folding of the flat blank, can have the shape of a cone.

An important condition is that the angle of view of the cat's two eyes does not overlap and the cat does not see the film. The front part is made longer than the length of the animal's head from the nose to the ears, and the width at the top is greater than the distance between the lateral edges of the animal's eyes. This condition is also important for selecting a muzzle, for example, for a cat. So, different cats have different head sizes and specified distances. But the product sold must have a picture with the sizes or a table indicating these distances, which allows you to select from the standard size range the muzzle that provides a muzzle with the effect of no transparent wall in front of the eyes for this particular cat or dog.

Under this condition, the distances of the position of the edges of the muzzle's front part ensure that the contour stitching is taken beyond the viewing angle both horizontally and vertically, i.e. the cat or dog simply does not see the stitched contour. And the use of PVC film of a given thickness allows eliminating the visual perception of this film as an obstacle.

The practice of using the new muzzle (Fig. 3 and 4) showed that animals are practically not subject to nervousness and do not make attempts to throw off the muzzle. This is important when the muzzle is indicated as an element of temporary wearing in the postoperative period or when transporting an animal that is not accustomed to leaving its home or habitat.
