Способ идентификации драгоценного камня, включающий получение цифрового фотоизображения образца, полученного при освещении источником света в видимом диапазоне, и люминесцентного при ультрафиолетовом облучении, математическую обработку полученных цифровых фотоизображений как с графическим представлением гистограммы распределения совокупности пикселей, так и с преобразованием полученных данных в цифровой код на основе коэффициентов полинома аппроксимирующего гистограмму, по полученному коду осуществляют идентификацию, при этом математическую обработку цифровых фотоизображений ведут на основе распределения составляющих его пикселей по попарному взаимному соотношению компонент RG, RB, GB, используемых для формирования пикселя в цифровом фотоизображении и создания на основе полученных данных визуализированного графического образа фотоизображений образца при освещении в видимой и ультрафиолетовой части спектра.
