Пододеяльник состоит из соединенных между собой верхнего и нижнего полотен, на верхнем полотне расположена застежка-молния, рассекающая верхнее полотно от верхнего края до нижнего края, молния прикрыта клапаном по всей протяженности, на параллельных молнии боковых гранях пододеяльника расположены прорези, в местах соединения (шва) верхнего и нижнего полотен по три прорези на каждой грани: две ближе к углам и одна посередине. Поставленная задача решается с помощью пододеяльника, состоящего из верхнего и нижнего полотен (листов ткани), сшитых по всему периметру между собой. В верхний лист пододеяльника вшивается молния. Она располагается по центру листа и ее протяженность от верхней границы у изголовья до нижней границы со стороны ног. То есть молния рассекает полностью верхний лист вдоль пополам. Молния прикрыта клапаном по всей протяженности. Клапан может быть одинарным, прикрывающим молнию с одной стороны, либо двойным, располагающимся внахлест с каждой стороны, встречно, один поверх другого. Молния может быть также вшита потайным способом. Это необходимо для исключения контакта жестких элементов молнии с телом человека. Ширина клапанов представляется эффективной и достаточной в размере от 3 до 5 см, однако это величина переменная.
