Abstract

The invention relates to a locking cylinder having a cylinder housing (1), having a cylinder core (2) mounted therein, having a locking member (3) and having a coupling piece (4), which is rotationally fixed with respect to the locking member (3) and is rotatable with respect to the cylinder core (2), with a coupling slot (7) for the insertion of the tip (6) of a key which is inserted into a key channel (8) of the cylinder core (2). In order to improve a generic lock in terms of security, a blocking element (9) is proposed which can be placed into a form-fitting connection with respect to the cylinder core (2) by the key tip (6) as it enters into the coupling slot (7).
