Abstract

The subject of the application is a stand for a box planter with a water drain, presented in the drawing. It consists of a rectangular wooden frame with three full walls, in the upper surface of which an insert in the form of an irrigated box planter is releasably mounted, and under the insert an inclined tray is mounted along the frame of the stand, the lower end of which is flush with a rectangular opening in the wall of the stand the width of the tray.

Description of the design The subject of the utility model is a box planter stand with a water drain.

Perennial or annual flowers are planted in the ground or in pots or boxes.

To maintain the proper conditions—soil moisture, from which the plants derive nutrients—plants are planted in a properly prepared pot and frequently watered with water and nutrients. To prevent root rot, drainage is provided at the bottom of the pot.

Small, medium and large pots are placed on saucers from which excess water can be poured out.

Large planters don't have stands – it would be difficult to lift such a heavy box filled with soil and flowers to drain excess water. Typically, such a box contains a lot of soil, or a plastic liner is installed in the box, into which flowers are planted. If this plastic liner has holes, water drips into the box. If water dripping inside is not noticed, it can accumulate and remain inside for weeks. Otherwise, water can spill onto the floor, flooding it or making it dirty. If the box is placed on a balcony, water can leak to a neighbor living below.

Existing solutions for both small and larger pots collect excess water but do not drain it further.

The closest approximation to the proposed utility model is the solution shown in Figure 9 in publication US2010319246A1. A gutter is placed under the planter to direct water to a collection bucket.

The essence of the utility model is a box planter stand with a water drainage. The stand consists of a rectangular wooden frame with three solid walls, in the upper surface of which an irrigated box planter insert is releasably mounted. A tilted tray is mounted beneath the insert along the frame of the stand, the lower end of which aligns with a rectangular opening in the wall of the stand, the same width as the tray.

The advantageously inclined tray is permanently attached to the walls of the stand using angle brackets.

In another variant, the inclined tray is mounted detachably on supports in the form of square timbers.
