Upholstered furniture designed as an armchair or sofa is known, and is equipped with a seat and a movable backrest connected to each other by a rack-and-pinion mechanism that facilitates movement and partial rotation of the backrest. The Polish industrial property right description PL 063078 describes an upholstered piece of furniture comprising a seat, a backrest, and a bedding container, where the seat is C-shaped and has backrests mounted on multi-position lifting mechanisms in the seat recess. Furthermore, the seat has a C-shaped leg attached to the front underside. It is known from the Polish description of the protective law PL 65619, an upholstered piece of furniture consisting of a movable backrest mounted with a movable hinge on the rear part of the container, characterized in that it has two side elements raised in relation to the seat in the sofa function, while in the bed function these side elements are lowered to the height of the seat when the seat is pulled forward to create an even surface with a horizontally placed movable backrest resting on the bedding container. The Polish protective law description PL 67349 describes an adjustable furniture backrest mechanism which comprises a base in the shape of a square plate attached to the furniture body, to which two levers are pivotally attached: a flat bar and a ratchet lever in the shape of a flat bar with a semicircle, which are connected at their other ends to a lever in the shape of the letter "L" with open arms. The ratchet lever cooperates with a pawl with holes made, longitudinal and angular, which cooperate with pins attached to the base, the pawl is pressed by a spiral spring, and the ratchet lever is tensioned by a helical spring attached at its other end to the base plate. Known from the Polish description of utility model PL 60566 is a lifting mechanism for folding furniture, which consists of a seat support and a backrest support pivotally mounted on a common axis, on which one end of the connector is also mounted, the other end of which is mounted on an axis mounted in the backrest support, on which axis a pawl is pivotally mounted cooperating with a rack constituting the end of the seat support, and equipped with a supporting lever system consisting of an angle lever pivotally mounted on an axis in the seat support, and the other end pivotally mounted in an intermediate lever, to which the end of a straight lever pivotally mounted on an axis mounted in the intermediate lever is also pivotally mounted. The Polish description of utility model PL 68010 describes a seat and backrest mechanism for an armchair, which comprises a longitudinal lever in a shape similar to the letter "C", which has an offset in its lower part and is articulated with a flat bar, the other end of which is articulated with a lever in the shape of the letter "L", the upper part of which is terminated with an angle bracket attached to the backrest of the armchair, and the other end is articulated with the angle bracket of the seat, while the upper end of the longitudinal lever is articulated with a headrest support, the middle part of which is articulated with a longer flat bar, the other end of which is articulated with a short flat bar, at the end of which is articulated with the upper support of the backrest, and the short flat bar is articulated with the longitudinal lever near its center. The L-shaped lever has a stop pin mounted on the bend. The essence of the upholstered furniture according to the utility model, comprising a seat and a backrest connected by a rack and pinion mechanism, and having two identical mounting brackets in the form of two flat bars connected by a joint containing a rack and pinion, which are fixedly attached to the sides of the backrest frame with the upholstered cushions attached to it on one side, and attached to the seat frame with the upholstered cushions attached to it on the other side, is characterized in that the seat in its rear part has a recess running parallel to its rear edge, in which is located the lower side of the backrest with a rounded profile that corresponds to the recess. The sides of the backrest frame on the seat side have a lateral contour of an arc shape. The furniture modeled after the pattern is characterized by a simple design that enhances the comfort of upholstered furniture by maintaining the contoured backrest in the lumbar region of the seated person in each adjustable position relative to the seat, by placing the rounded lower side of the backrest in a transverse recess in the seat.
