Abstract

1. Description

The present invention relates to a pocket in a sheet of garment knitted with needles in a single or double bed, or combinations thereof, that have a pocket bag opening and knitted in a single bed, the edges being knitted in the single bed with loops directly connected to the pocket bag.

In modern double bed knitting machines, one or more pockets can be knitted when knitting a piece of clothing. This allows the production of knitted garments such as jackets with a significantly reduced labor consumption compared to the conventional sewing of separately manufactured pockets. The pockets are then automatically placed in the correct position of the knitted panel according to its pattern.

However, this method of production is limited since the pockets produced are similar in appearance and therefore the method is only applicable to certain types of garments. For example, if the edges of the pockets are knitted with only a single loop connecting them to the pocket bag, the connection is stretchable which causes the pocket bags to be pulled outwards and deteriorates the proper appearance of the garment.

The object of the invention is therefore an improved pocket which can also be a decorative element in knitted garments.

The structured knitting preferably consists of a horizontal wrapped loop knitted in a single bed and directly connected to a knitted loop in the single bed of the pocket bag.

The structured knitting preferably consists of a horizontal folded loop knitted in a single bed and directly connected to the loop of the edge of the knitted pocket in combination with a horizontal folded loop. The loop in the single bed is preferably knitted in a different color or in the color of the knitted underside, and the wrapped loops are preferably knitted in a different color or in the color of the knitted underside. The edge portion of the pocket is preferably knitted in a different color or in the color of the knitted underside, and the folded loop is positioned between the pocket bag and the knit panel in the center of the pocket and extends to the pocket flap.

Thanks to this, the structured knitting creates stiffness along the front edges of the pockets and prevents them from being pulled outwards, as the loops hold the fabric downwards and inwards.

The invention has been described in an embodiment shown in the drawing, in which Fig. 1 shows a top view of a piece of knitted panel of garment with pockets according to a first embodiment of the invention; and Fig. 2 shows pockets according to another embodiment of the invention.

Figures 1 and 2 show a piece of machine needle knitted garments in a so-called single or double bed, or a combination thereof. The pocket has a bag 11 with an opening 12 and is made when a piece of clothing is knitted by knitting its two sides in a single bed. The two sides of the pockets are connected by stitching 13.

The pocket shown in Fig. 1 has edges formed by horizontal wrapped loops 14 knitted in a single bed and directly connected to the bag 11 pockets. Thanks to such a design of the pocket, the knitted fabric has two joined and wrapped loops that increase the stability of the edges of the pocket opening. The wrap-around loops and loops may be knitted with yarns having one or more different colors to form the decorations of knitted garments.

According to a second embodiment of the invention, the pocket shown in Fig. 2 has edges made of horizontal folded loops 16 knitted in a single bed and joined to the edge of the pocket 17 knitted in a single or double bed. The edge of the pocket 17 is connected directly to a knitted loop 15 made in a single bed and directly connected to the bags of the pocket 11.

Thanks to this design of the pockets, additional structural stability is obtained, and in addition, various decorative patterns can be knitted on the pockets.

Precisely designed pockets are placed in designated areas of the knitted piece of clothing, the sections of which can be folded forwards or backwards, eliminating a lot of manual work during the production of garments. Pockets can be optimally placed on the back, sides, chest or front. The garment can be designed as a vest or jacket with no folded fronts, or with outward or inward folded fronts.

The invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiment, and a number of changes can be made therein. For example, the described elements forming the pocket openings can be made differently in terms of both color and dimensions. Furthermore, an additional loop wrap 16 may be provided between the pocket bag and the garment panel, i.e. inside the pocket. The loop fold 16 may be so wide that it forms a pocket flap.
