Abstract

An aspect of the present invention is directed to a computing system for facilitating an input operation in a mounted mobile computing device (MMCD), such as a smart-phone, that is physically, communicatively and compatibly coupled to a head-mounted display (HMD) device or virtual reality headset (VRH). An input instruction initiated from graphically represented one or more hardware components and emulated one or more software components of the MMCD on a spatial visualization environment of the HMD device may cause an event (e.g., an application launch) to concurrently occur within an operating environment residing on the MMCD and within the spatial visualization environment. The graphically represented and emulated components of the MMCD, which may be regarded as a "virtual reality device (VRD)," may be enabled to be superimposed on a field of view of a real-world object capturable with a cameraú application executing on the MMCD.
