Abstract

A construction method for a cylindrical tank having an inner tank and an outer tank, the construction methods: a knuckle portion assembly step of assembling an annular knuckle portion inside the outer tank; a knuckle support placement step of installing a plurality of knuckle supports in the knuckle portion in a circumferential direction thereof; a brace jack placement step of installing an extendable and contractible brace jack at a knuckle support so that the brace jack faces a sidewall of the outer tank; and an inner tank assembly step of assembling the inner tank by hanging and lifting the knuckle portion using a plurality of jack-up units and by attatching an inner tank lateral plate to a lower side of the lifted knuckle portion. Additionally, in the inner tank assembly step, when the knuckle portion is hanged and lifted, the brace jack is extended to be braced between the sidewall of the outer tank and knuckle support, and then the knuckle portion is fixed to the sidewall of the outer tank.
