Abstract
En el presente documento se describen composiciones y metodos para tratar las aguas residuales producidas por las operaciones de extraccion minera de cobre. Se ha descubierto que la escoria de las operaciones de fabricacion de acero y otros materiales de desecho industrial que incluyen elementos de metal alcalino y/o alcalinoterreo elevan el pH de las aguas residuales y tambien reducen el contenido de arsenico. Despues de dicho tratamiento, la escoria gastada o los desechos industriales pueden utilizarse como fuente de metales valiosos o incorporarse en materiales de construccion estabilizados.
