Abstract

Proceso para recuperar uno o ambos de cobre y/o plata de una alimentacion sulfurada que contiene hierro, arsenico, cobre y plata por oxidacion a presion de una lechada de alimentacion acuosa hecha con dicha alimentacion sulfurada, en un recipiente presurizado, para formar una fase liquida que contiene acido sulfurico libre y sulfato de cobre acuoso, y para precipitar arsenico como compuestos solidos de Fe-As. El proceso incluye operar el recipiente presurizado con un contenido de solidos suficientemente bajo para mantener un nivel de acido libre menor que 30 g/l en la fase liquida, y proveer suficiente calor como para mantener en el recipiente presurizado una temperatura mayor a los 200 °C. El cobre metalico se recupera de la fase liquida y/o la plata se puede recuperar de los solidos mediante lixiviacion con cianuro sin necesidad de realizar un paso de descomposicion de la jarosita.
