Abstract
Un sustrato para uso en una suspension acuosa tiene un revestimiento polimerico para proporcionar una superficie adherente y pegajosa. El recubrimiento de polimero tiene una sustancia quimica para hacer que la superficie sea hidrofobica para atraer particulas minerales hidrofobicas o hidrofobizadas en la suspension. El sustrato puede tomar la forma de una cinta transportadora, una microesfera, una malla, un impulsor, un filtro o una superficie plana. El sustrato tambien puede ser una espuma de celda abierta. El recubrimiento polimerico puede modificarse con agentes de pegajosidad; plastificantes; agentes de reticulacion; agentes de transferencia de cadena; extensores de cadena; promotores de adherencia; copolimeros arilo o alquilicos; copolimeros fluorados y/o aditivos; agentes hidrofobizantes tales como hexametildisilazano; particulas inorganicas tales como silice, silice hidrofobica y/o silice hidrofobica ahumada; resina MQ ; y/u otros aditivos para controlar y modificar las propiedades del polimero.
