Abstract

Que comprende: un metodo para recuperar zinc a partir de una escoria derivada a partir de la fundicion de plomo que consta en someter la escoria a una etapa de lixiviacion bajo condiciones en las cuales el zinc se disuelva dentro de una solucion y el silice presente en la escoria se disuelva y vuelva a precipitar en una forma que es rapidamente separable del liquido, y se reconvierta en zinc a partir de la solucion. La escoria puede ser sometida a lixiviacion en al menos dos etapas en las cuales en una primera etapa de lixiviacion solo la parte del zinc es retirada de la escoria y una lixiviacion adicional del zinc a partir de la escoria ocurre en una segunda etapa para formar una solucion de lixiviacion sembrada y luego recuperar el zinc de la solucion. El metodo puede ser usado para eliminar S02 desde una corriente de gas usando la corriente de gas que contiene S02 para lixiviar una suspension de la escoria
