Abstract
SE REFIERE A UN METODO PARA EXTRAER COBRE DE UN CONCENTRADO DE CALCOPIRITA MEDIANTE LIXIVIACION QUIMICA, USANDO PIRITA Y PLATA. LAS PROPIEDADES CATALITICAS DE LA PIRITA EN EL PROCESO DE LIXIVIACION DE CALCOPIRITA SE POTENCIAN CONSIDERABLEMENTE PRETRATANDO LA PIRITA CON IONES DE PLATA. SE EXPONE LA PIRITA EN PARTICULAS A UNA SOLUCION QUE CONTIENE IONES DE PLATA PARA FORMAR PIRITA TRATADA CON PLATA. SE MEZCLAN LA CALCOPIRITA EN PARTICULAS Y LA PIRITA TRATADA CON PLATA EN UNA SOLUCION DE LIXIVIACION DE SULFATO ACIDA. EL COBRE SE LIXIVIA DEL CONCENTRADO EN LA SOLUCION DE LIXIVIACION EN PRESENCIA DE UN GAS QUE CONTIENE OXIGENO, EN CONDICIONES EN LAS QUE LA PIRITA NO SE OXIDA SUSTANCIALMENTE. EL COBRE LIXIVIADO SE EXTRAE DE LA SOLUCION MEDIANTE METODOS CONVENCIONALES. LA PIRITA TRATADA CON PLATA USADA SE RECICLA HACIA EL PROCESO DE LIXIVIACION.
