SE REFIERE A UN PROCESO PARA PREPARAR UN PRODUCTO DE ACIDO GLUTARICO A PARTIR DE UNA FUENTE DE PENTOSA, QUE COMPRENDE: A) HACER REACCIONAR UNA PENTOSA TAL COMO XILOSA, SOLUBILIZANDO UNA PORCION DE LA MISMA CON ACIDO ACETICO, CON OXIGENO EN PRESENCIA DE UN CATALIZADOR DE OXIDACION QUE ES UN METAL TAL COMO Pd O Pt PARA OBTENER UN ACIDO PENTARICO TAL COMO ACIDO XILARICO; Y B) HACER REACCIONAR EL ACIDO PENTARICO, SOLUBILIZANDO UNA PORCION DE LA MISMA CON ACIDO ACETICO, CON HIDROGENO EN PRESENCIA DE UN CATALIZADOR DE HIDRODESOXIGENACION QUE ES UN METAL TAL COMO Ru, Rh, Pd O Pt EN UN SOPORTE TAL COMO CARBONO, SILICE O ZIRCONIA, Y UNA FUENTE DE HALOGENO TAL COMO BROMURO DE HIDROGENO PARA OBTENER EL PRODUCTO DE ACIDO GLUTARICO; EN DONDE LA TEMPERATURA DE LA REACCION ES DE 100ºC A 200ºC
