DONDE EL METODO COMPRENDE: a) LLEVAR LA MENA DE SULFURO DE COBRE-PIRITA FINAMENTE MOLIDA, HASTA UN GROSOR ENTRE 95 Y 100% BAJO 150 um, A UNA SOLUCION DE ACIDO SULFURICO Y HIERRO EN DONDE ES OXIDADA DURANTE LA LIXIVIACION DE COBRE BAJO CONDICIONES ATMOSFERICAS; b) ENFRIAR LA SOLUCION ACUOSA CON ALTO CONTENIDO DE COBRE QUE SALE DE LA LIXIVIACION, SEPARANDO EL YESO Y EL ARSENIATO FERRIDO DE DICHA SOLUCION; Y, c) LLEVAR DICHA SOLUCION ACUOSA A DOS ETAPAS DE EXTRACCION LIQUIDO-LIQUIDO, EN DONDE AL MENOS EL 90% DEL REFINADO DE LA PRIMERA ETAPA ES RECIRCULADO A LA LIXIVIACION Y EL RESTO ES LLEVADO A LA SEGUNDA ETAPA DE EXTRACCION (PREVIA NEUTRALIZACION CON CAL VIVA O PIEDRA CALIZA) DONDE EL COBRE TIENE UNA CONCENTRACION DE 0,5 g/L. LA SOLUCION TIENE UNA CONCENTRACION DE HIERRO DE AL MENOS 10 g/L Y UNA CONCENTRACION DE ACIDO SULFURICO DE AL MENOS 20 g/L. LA CANTIDAD DE COBRE AL INICIO DE LA LIXIVIACION ESTA ENTRE 8 Y 12 g/L, LA TEMPERATURA DE LA LIXIVIACION ESTA ENTRE 85°C Y 95°C, Y SE LLEVA A CABO EN REACTORES CERRADOS CONECTADOS EN SERIE (PROVISTOS DE DEFLECTORES) DENTRO DE LOS CUALES SE ALIMENTA UN GAS CONTENIENDO OXIGENO. EL TAMANO DE GRANO DE LA MENA ESTA ENTRE 50 Y 150 um. LA PROPORCION DE Fe+3/Fe+2 DE LA SOLUCION QUE INGRESA A LA LIXIVIACION ES REGULADA ENTRE 0,5 Y 1,2, Y EL POTENCIAL DE OXIDACION-REDUCCION AL FINAL DE LA LIXIVIACION ES REGULADO ENTRE 450 Y 500 mV. LA CAPACIDAD TERMICA DE LA SOLUCION ACUOSA ES APROVECHADA PARA CALENTAR EL REFINADO QUE INGRESA A LA LIXIVIACION
