Abstract

The method involves initially calibrating the vapor recovery device using air by measuring the characteristic value and the corresponding air flow and building an initial calibration table, measuring the vapor and liquid flow rates at each dispensing operation, and recalibrating the table based on the new values. The method involves performing an initial calibration of the recovery device (Pv) by air suction by varying the value g in step i and measuring, for each value g0i of g the corresponding vapor flow rate Qvi for air in order to build an initial calibration table To: T0 = (g0i,Qvi) With each liquid dispensing operation n, the method further involves: (a) measuring the liquid flow rate QL at a regular time interval and determining a value gn-1j of the value g to be applied to the recovery device with the aid of the calibration table Tn-1 = (gn-1i,Qvi) Tn-1 = (gn-1j,QL) where Qvi = QL; (b) measuring the vapor flow rate Qv at each time interval; (c) calculating a coefficient Kn of similarity based on the differences between the measured values of QL and Qv; and (d) building a new calibration table Tn to be used for the next dispensing operation n+1 by means of: Tn = (gni,Qvi) = Kn.To.
